Originally founded in 1976 by the now Chairman, Colin Mustoe, Senator has come a long way in its 30 year history. Since its humble beginnings the company has evolved and grown substantially into the UK's leading manufacturer of office furniture.

Turnover in 2007 exceeded £88 million, an increase of 12.5% on 2006.

All areas of the business have performed extremely well and have continued to grow, with employee numbers nearing the 1000 barrier.

We pride ourselves with never being satisfied and there are a number of initiatives planned for 2008, especially for our London showroom, which has been a phenomenal success with over 4500 people visiting since the launch.

This coming year will see new and improved facilities at our head office in Altham, enabling us to offer much better services for customer visits and presentations.

At the end of 2006 we opened our first sales and marketing operation in mainland Europe in Zeist, Holland, headed up by Dennis van der Weijde, and we now have our own production facility in Maumee, Ohio where we are manufacturing various products from the Allermuir portfolio with a view to launch Senator Office products further into 2008.

Our Middle Eastern sales manager, Liam King, has become quickly customised to life in Dubai where we have won a number of large orders, including the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Adding an International prospective to our business is exciting, but at the same time we have continued to invest very heavily in all aspects of our business in the UK. We have a number of exciting programmes to launch during the first quarter of 2008 and we continue to find new ways in which we can improve the service offered to customers and our search for more innovative products.
